Terms of Service
Last updated: 4 October 2026
Written in plain language. Nothing in these terms takes away rights that the consumer law of your country gives you and that cannot be waived by contract. Where these terms and such a law conflict, the law wins.
The short version
- You must be 18 or older.
- Your first 10 days are free. No card is needed, and nothing is charged when the trial ends.
- Membership costs US$11.99 per month, tax included, and renews automatically every month until you cancel.
- You can cancel anytime online in Settings → Billing. You keep access to the end of the month you paid for.
- No refunds for partial months, except where the law requires one (for example, the EU/UK 14-day withdrawal right).
- ThematicView is an information tool. It is not investment advice.
1. Who we are and accepting these terms
ThematicView ("we", "us") runs the website at thematicview.com. Our legal business name, address and tax registration number are printed on every invoice and receipt, and we will send them to anyone who asks at support@thematicview.com. By creating an account, subscribing or otherwise using ThematicView, you agree to these terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you don't agree, don't use the service.
2. The service
ThematicView is a market analysis platform. It provides stock and ETF screening, relative-strength rankings, market breadth indicators, watchlists and a trading journal, built from third-party market data. Features can change over time. If we remove a feature that is central to what you paid for, you can cancel and ask for a pro-rata refund of the unused part of the current month.
3. Age requirement (18+)
You must be at least 18 years old, and old enough to enter a binding contract where you live, to create an account or subscribe. We ask for your date of birth before you can use the service. We store only whether you are over 18, not the date itself. Your first answer is final. If you tell us you are under 18, you cannot use the service and we delete the account. Giving a false age breaks these terms, and we will close the account. If we learn that a member is under 18, we close the account and refund any membership fees they paid.
4. Your account
Give accurate information, keep your sign-in secure, and don't share your account. You are responsible for activity under your account. Tell us straight away at support@thematicview.com if you suspect someone else is using it.
5. Membership, price and taxes
After the free trial (section 5a), access to ThematicView requires a paid membership. The price is US$11.99 per month, billed in US dollars. The price includes tax. Any VAT, GST or sales tax that applies where you live is calculated from your billing address and is already inside the price you see, so the amount charged is the amount shown. Your invoice shows the tax portion. If your bank or card charges a currency-conversion or foreign-transaction fee, that fee is between you and your bank.
Payments are processed by Stripe. We never see or store your full card number. Business customers can add a VAT or tax ID at checkout. Where reverse charge applies, it is shown on the invoice.
5a. Free trial
Each person gets one free trial of 10 days. It starts when you first confirm you are 18 or older and gives you the full service. We don't ask for payment details during the trial, so you will not be charged automatically when it ends. When it ends, you choose whether to become a paying member. Your saved watchlists, baskets and journal are kept either way. Creating extra accounts to get more trials breaks these terms. If you subscribe before the trial ends, paid membership (and billing) starts right away.
6. Automatic renewal
Your membership is a continuous subscription. It renews automatically every month, and we charge the then-current monthly price (currently US$11.99, tax included) to your saved payment method on the same day each month, until you cancel. You agree to this when you tick the consent box and pay at checkout. After you subscribe you get a Stripe receipt by email, and Settings → Billing always shows your status, next renewal date and a cancel link.
Price changes. If we raise the price, we email you at least 30 days before the new price applies to you. You can cancel before then and never pay the new price. The new price only applies from the first renewal after the notice period ends.
Failed payments. If a renewal payment fails, Stripe retries it over the following days and emails you so you can update your card. You keep access while it retries. If every retry fails, the membership ends and access stops. You won't be charged for any period after that.
7. How to cancel
You can cancel at any time, online, in a few clicks: go to Settings → Billing → Manage or cancel membership and confirm. You can also email support@thematicview.com from the address on your account and we will cancel for you. Cancelling is never harder than subscribing, and you don't have to call us or give a reason.
When you cancel, no further charges are made. You keep access until the end of the month you have already paid for, and then access stops. Deleting your account (Settings → Privacy & data) cancels the membership immediately.
8. Refunds and your right of withdrawal
Apart from the cases below, membership fees are non-refundable, and we don't give refunds or credits for partial months or unused time. This doesn't affect any refund that the law where you live requires us to give.
EU, EEA and UK consumers: 14-day right of withdrawal
If you are a consumer living in the EU, EEA or UK, you can withdraw from your first membership contract within 14 days of subscribing, without giving a reason. At checkout you ask for access to start immediately. If you then withdraw within the 14 days, we refund what you paid minus a proportionate amount for the days you had access (EU Directive 2011/83/EU art. 14(3); UK Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013 reg. 36). To withdraw, email support@thematicview.com with a clear statement such as "I withdraw from my ThematicView membership", or use this model form:
To ThematicView, support@thematicview.com: I hereby give notice that I withdraw from my contract for the ThematicView membership, subscribed on [date]. Name: [ ]. Account email: [ ]. Date: [ ].
We refund within 14 days of receiving your notice, to the original payment method, at no charge to you.
Everyone
If you are charged by mistake, for example a double charge or a charge after you cancelled, email us and we will refund it in full. If a serious outage makes the service unusable for a large part of a billing month, contact us and we will give a fair pro-rata refund or credit. Please contact us before opening a chargeback. We can usually fix billing problems faster.
9. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Scrape, crawl, or use automated tools to bulk-access the service or its data.
- Resell, redistribute, or republish market data obtained through the service.
- Share your account or let others use it.
- Attempt to circumvent rate limits, authentication, the age check, the paywall, or other access controls.
- Use the service for any unlawful purpose or in a way that disrupts it for others.
10. Intellectual property
The ThematicView name, branding, software and design belong to us or our licensors. Market data shown in the service belongs to its third-party providers. It is licensed to you for personal, non-commercial use within the service only.
11. Not investment advice
ThematicView provides analytical tools and market data for information only. We are not a broker-dealer, investment adviser, or registered financial professional of any kind, and we are not regulated to give personal investment advice anywhere. Nothing on the service is a recommendation to buy, sell or hold any security or financial instrument, or a statement that one is suitable for you. Rankings, screens, setups and alerts are the output of fixed rules applied to data. They are not opinions about what you should do. Past performance does not predict future results, and trading can lose you more than you put in. You alone are responsible for your investment and trading decisions. Consider getting advice from a qualified, licensed professional before acting.
12. Market data
Market data comes from third-party providers and may be delayed, incomplete or wrong. Most data refreshes once a day after the US market closes. It is not real-time and must not be relied on for time-sensitive trading decisions.
13. Warranties
To the extent the law allows, the service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind beyond those the law says cannot be excluded. We don't promise it will be uninterrupted or error-free. If you are a consumer, you keep your statutory rights, for example under EU Directive 2019/770 or the UK Consumer Rights Act 2015, to a digital service that matches its description and is fit for purpose, and to remedies if it isn't.
14. Limitation of liability
To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for any trading or investment loss, lost profits or lost data arising from your use of the service or reliance on its data. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the fees you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot be limited by law.
15. Suspension and termination
We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, for example account sharing, scraping, a false age, or payment fraud. If we close your account for another reason, not because you broke these terms, we refund the unused part of your current month. You can stop using the service and delete your account at any time.
16. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. For material changes that affect members, we email you at least 30 days before they take effect, and you can cancel before then if you don't accept them. Minor changes, such as clearer wording or legal-name updates, take effect when posted and update the date above.
17. Where you live: governing law and disputes
Please contact support@thematicview.com first. Most problems are solved quickly that way.
EU / EEA and UK
These terms are governed by the law of the country where we are established. If you are a consumer, you also keep the protection of the mandatory consumer laws of the country where you live, and you can bring a claim in the courts of that country. EU consumers can also contact their national consumer authority or an out-of-court dispute resolution body. UK consumers can also contact Citizens Advice.
United States
If you live in the United States, the automatic-renewal and consumer-protection laws of your state apply to your membership. These include the California Automatic Renewal Law (Bus. & Prof. Code §17600 et seq.), New York General Business Law §527-a, and similar laws in other states, as well as the federal Restore Online Shoppers' Confidence Act. We present the renewal terms before you pay, get your express consent, send a confirmation, and let you cancel online at any time as described above. Nothing in these terms requires you to arbitrate or waive a class action. You can bring a claim in small-claims court or in the courts where you live.
Everywhere else
These terms are governed by the law of the country where we are established, subject to any mandatory consumer protections of the country where you live, for example the Australian Consumer Law or the Canadian provincial consumer-protection acts. Where local law gives you rights that these terms don't mention, you have those rights too.
18. General
If a court finds part of these terms unenforceable, the rest still applies. If we don't enforce a term straight away, we can still enforce it later. You may not transfer your account. These terms, the Privacy Policy and the checkout terms you accepted are the whole agreement between us.
19. Contact
Questions, cancellations, withdrawals or complaints: email support@thematicview.com. We aim to reply within two business days.
